The haute couture season in Paris is over, it’s true, but there’s still a lot to say about it. Tunisian designer Azzedine Alaïa, after an eight-year hiatus, finally reopened his studio on Rue de Moussy. And he called up a few good guests and publishers for his fashion show. It was a commotion. According to"Vogue" Italy’s website, the applause lasted 10 minutes, and the French Minister of Culture, Frédéric Mitterrand, went to get him personally backstage to receive the tribute. Donatella Versace went up on the catwalk to congratulate him for his collection.

* Alaïa’s creations are loved by powerful women. Among them, Naomi Campbell and Stephanie Seymour, his muses, and the first ladies Carla Bruni-Sarkozy and Michelle Obama.
