Attention glamurettes! On Thursday, Ímpar Gallery opens the exhibition “Uma Coisa são Duas” ("One Thing is Two”), with a great concept. The starting point is a testimony of Carlos Drummond de Andrade on the photographs of Alécio de Andrade, saying: "Look, figure out this secret: one thing is two – itself and its image". Eder Chiodetto, the show’s curator, has developed the idea that photography is a source of duplicity, that is, that images can be interpreted in totally different ways by those who create them and and those who look at them.
* There are 34 works by 17 photographers, all inspired by Drummond’s quote, but completely different from one another. Among the artists are Alice Grou, Helô Mello, Jacqueline Schein, Li Cotait, Salete Goldfinger and Vivian Lembo.
