Imagine a meeting between some of the best Brazilian musicians on the same stage, a kind of dream team of big bands. For this band exists, and it has for a while, and it’s called Funk Como Le Gusta. The ten members are musicians who play with the biggest names in country that one day decided to join forces to make the sound that they liked the most: a mix of samba, soul and Latin music into a cauldron of Brazilian black music. Singer Paula Lima and producer BiD were launched when they were still in the group. With ten years on the road and a legion of faithful followers, Funk Como Le Gusta just released “A Cura Pelo Som” ("The Sound Healing"), an album with the upbeat compositions that turn the group’s concerts into real balls to cleanse the soul. Does anyone out there have any doubts that good music can redeem?
