Owners of a breathtaking art collection, and Roberto and Maria Mellão de Abreu Sodré were the most fashionable couple to ever hold the office of governor and first lady of the State of São Paulo (between 1967 and 1971). Absent for more than a decade, Dr. Roberto Sodré left rarities such as the Cartier silver Poudrier, with the initials "EIIR", gift from Queen Elizabeth II, in 1976. Since Tuesday this piece and 367 others have been on display and will be auctioned on April 12 and 13 at the James Lisboa gallery, in Jardim Paulista.

* There are several famous collections, such as pieces that belonged to the Count of Paris, the Count of Barcelona, Earl Spencer and King Umberto II of Italy, among many others, successfully bid by the couple on numerous trips and auctions. Portuguese and Brazilian pieces of English Victorian silver are the highlight. Daughters Maria do Carmo and Ana Maria are personally overseeing the details of the auction and the demand is big. In just a few hours of the exposition, dozens of people have visited the collection!
