The ‘Soft Maps’ created by Emily Fischer started out as an experiment in 2002, when the architect was still in college. She got the idea when her mother lost her sight and tactile experience was one of the ways her daughter found to make her life easier. Today, the architect has an online store called Haptic Lab, where neighborhoods in New York, U.S. cities, or anywhere else – if you order beforehand – can be stamped into beautiful quilts. They cost from $ 95 and there’s also a version for babies. Visit the store to check out all the quilts.
