Brazilian cinema keeps on rocking international festivals. This time, the film “Era uma Vez Verônica” ("Once Upon a Time Veronica"), by Marcelo Gomes, was selected for the show Cinema Under Construction 20, at the San Sebastian Festival, which takes place between September 20 and 21 in the Spanish city. It’s part of a select group of only six Latin American films.
* From the director of the successful “Cinema, Aspirinas e Urubus” ("Cinema, Aspirins and Vultures"), the film tells the daily life of Veronica, 24, who graduates from medical school and faces a hectic work routine in Recife. The girl decides to narrate a personal diary into a recorder, and over the plot, she realizes how much her life has changed because of her job.
