Not the cold, rain nor the almost 100 km that separate the new Fasano Hotel in Boa Vista, Porto Feliz, in São Paulo, discouraged the 600 guests who attended the inauguration lunch of the business. Designed by Isay Weinfeld, the hotel has 39 apartments, and to stay in it, you need not only a reservation, but also to be appointed by an owner of one of the condominium homes.

* In the lobby, you could already get a feeling of the hotel. The contemporary furniture pushed it away from the idea of the old country hotels. On the porch, rocking chairs and large armchairs invite you to take a break. Before lunch, we saw one of the rooms. Each apartment has two floors: on the ground floor, the living room with a cozy sofa, a fireplace and balcony with individual access to the garden and pool. There was a Nespresso coffee machine, as well as Belgian chocolates, wines and teas. Upstairs, a bedroom. Double bed, iPod connector and a breathtaking view. Small details really stand out, like handles made of bamboo, rustic wall of the TV and the pampering offered in the bathroom – we loved the wooden comb and the various types of sachets.

* Back at the cocktail party, Cris Barros, Renata and Lilly Sarti, Vanda Jacintho, J.R. Duran, Alex Brochen, Cristiana Arcangeli, J. Hawilla, Guga Valente and João Joaquim de Almeida Braga, Zeco and Mariana Auriemo, Fernando and Bettina Quinteiro, Vitório and Ana Joma Fasano, among many others, went ahead for lunch. Which turned out to be prepared by French chef Laurent Suaudeau, who made everyone fall in love with simple but very tasty combination of beef stew, chestnut rice and poached egg. A delight!

* Musicians playing classics kept everybody going all afternoon into the evening – there were wine, champagne, caipirinha or innocent cups of Clericot. Bowls with nuts were always around, just like the employee’s good mood. Two auxiliary rooms, next to the lobby, hid two pool tables and fireplaces that will be activated starting this Sunday and may then be used by guests.

* And if the day began somewhat gray, a lot of people got infected by the party lively spirit after five o’clock, and, curious to get to know the property, many risked a walk through the grass when the drizzle eased up. Sure that heaven is closer than you think. We can’t wait to return!
