In Balenciaga’s summer 2011 fashion show, the top made a very interesting request: only low-heeled shoes. "The idea was to have really high heels for the summer collection, but Gisele, Amber Valletta and Carolyn Murphy said no," Nicolas Ghesquière, creative director of the brand, told portal "WWD." The reason? Away from the catwalks for years, they are no longer used to daring heels.
* "Gisele was one of the most concerned, making it clear that she would not walk the catwalk unless there were other shoes," he said. The result: an entire collection of sneakers, boots and special flats – which resulted in a streetwear trend. Talk about power!
